Traditional Batak Toba wooden house, Ruma Batak. The walls and pillars were decorated and painted with symbolic motives they named it GORGA, painted only with three colour, black, white and red (tiga bolit). In most Batak areas, Ruma gorga batak the traditional huge houses are in fact all gone. However there are still good examples to be found in Tano Batak Samosir and Balige, North Sumatera.
